In a bizarre collaboration that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "A strange encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of banned rituals and terrifying transformations echo through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.
The mission centers on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to several items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
